Welcome to My Journey to Depth, a blog in which I share my training tips, freediving adventures and competition stories.

Silver Medallist in CWT at the Individual Depth World Championship 2019.

After an eventful and emotional week of ups and downs, I’m glad to say that’s its finally coming to an end.

This World Championship was like no other! You’ve got to be here to understand it…

Last competition day in CWT discipline we finally enjoyed some sun! I did a dive to -90m, securing 2nd position.

My dear friend Hanako Hirose, finishing 1st, performed a deep -101m dive, but was helped by the safety team afterwards. She completed the protocol accordingly to the rules, and was given a white card. In the way the situation unravelled, a huge debate followed that evening…

Much can be said from this competition but all I will say is that I’m happy that AIDA’s established procedures, were ultimately followed and that decisions weren’t manipulated by personal opinions.

With Jessea Lu – Current Chinese leading freediver & record holder.

Congratulations to all my friends for your performances, determination and strength! See you next year!
